OHPI invites you to a guided tour of Anne Frank Exhibition

The travelling exhibition “Let Me Be Myself: The Story of Anne Frank is currently showing at the Lamm Jewish Library Melbourne. The exhibition has been put together by Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and traces the lives of Franks during the Second World War, and connects it to the larger social and political happenings that affected their lives.

OHPI is organising a guided tour through the exhibition on September 3, 2015, 7:30-9:30pm.

Anne Frank’s story shares the victim’s experience of living with hate, whose only fault is to belong to a particular race, religion or community. We believe that her story still have relevance to our lives because antisemitism is on the rise again, particularly in Europe. Only this time, instead of posters and graffiti on walls, social media is being used to spread lies, misinformation, negative stereotypes, and fear against the Jewish community. Her story is a telling reminder of how we cannot dismiss hate speech as something that will go away on its own. It needs to be confronted, corrected and removed from our public spaces. If not addressed forcefully, it will only snowball into something serious consequences for the victims.

Attend the guided tour, and bring your friends along.
