Youth Summit: Training Registration

The Online Hate Prevention Institute, in association with the MARSS Youth Summit, are please to invite participants in the Youth Summit who are 18 or older to attend a free online training session on responding to online hate.

A public session, which you are welcome to attend, will take place at 6pm on Monday 18 November. We are also happy to offer an additional session just for participants of the Youth Summit at one of the other times listed below. Please tick all the times you can attend and we will select an additional time that works for the most participants.

The training, which usually costs $55 per person, will give participants:

  • A greater understanding of and sensitivity to the forms of hate-speech most relevant in today’s digital landscape,
  • An understanding of how hate-speech can impact both targeted communities and society as a whole,
  • A framework for identifying what does and does not qualify as hate-speech, and
  • The ability to actively combat hate-speech online to make social media platforms safer for minority groups.

Those who attend the one-hour trianing training in responding to online hate will be given priority for full scholarships in our advanced training program which will give participants the skills and access to become an expert in tackling the online hate that impacts their community.
