Is Australia really facing an antisemitism crisis? The evidence is clearer than some would have you think

In an op-ed for the ABC, our CEO Dr Andre Oboler discusses a recent article in the Guardian that compares the prevalence of antisemitism and Islamophobia. The Guardian article suggests that Islamophobia is the more common of the two, but Oboler analyses the data used in support of this claim, and cites independent sources, to establish that the opposite is true. This case is discussed as part of a cultural climate in which the heightened antisemitism since the October 7 attacks is continually downplayed and marginalised.
