“Online antisemitism at record levels” – Article in The Australian Jewish News

A new article from the Australian Jewish News discusses our recent report which on the trends in online antisemitism two years after the October 7 attacks. They discuss the report’s finding that antisemitism has reached record or near-record levels on social media, with four platforms now recording levels that exceed those in the months immediately following October 7, 2023.

The article also discusses the 10 most recent antisemitic narratives identified in the report. The most prevalent of these narratives is “traditional antisemitism”, which includes long-standing narratives about Jews killing Jesus, as well as antisemitic slurs. The second most prevalent narrative involves claims about a world-wide Jewish conspiracy, followed by traditional antisemitic tropes directed towards Israel and Israelis specifically. This data is contrasted with the antisemitic narratives that were most popular before October 7, which featured a higher proportion of holocaust denial and distortion.
