Our CEO Dr Andre Oboler writes for The Jewish Independent about the changing social climate regarding antisemitism following the October 7 attacks nearly a year ago. Since these attacks, there has been a creeping reluctance from anyone in the mainstream media to call out instances of antisemitism. Such discussion is typically only tolerated if paired with an equal, corresponding discussion of Islamophobia or anti-Muslim hatred. Oboler discusses the vilification of those, like the Online Hate Prevention Institute, who are still actively highlighting and combatting antisemitism online. The current climate, which is largely a culture of silence regarding antisemitism, is a step backwards and threatens the safety of those in the Jewish Community.
The silence has been the worst
