This articles looks at online posts inciting violence against Jews in Australia. The posts were made by one particular user on X (Twitter) and most of them occured in the last few days, since the antisemitic attacks in Melbourne on Friday July 4th and Saturday July 5th, 2025.
Yes, this is only one person, but it is an account that in the past had almost 100,000 views on a post saying Hitler didn’t go far enough. It is an account actively engaging with the Australia media and government agencies. It is an account inciting others. Calling out such accounts matters. We have redacted the account name, as we usually do, both to prevent them getting further publicity and support, and to ensure any follow up is by the authorities and not the mob.
The core view expressed here, that Jews in Australia should be a target, are not unique to this person. In the coming days we will be publishing further information on the online response since July 4th, 2025. We already called this out in March 2024 in our report Online Antisemitism After October 7 where we discuss “Racist anti-Zionism” in more detail.
It’s important people understand that both Zionism (a political ideology) and Judaism (a religion) can be critisized, but when you start attacking people, inciting violence against them, seeking to force them out of society, or destroy their businesses, you are no longer expressing criticism of an idea. You are engaging in hate that targets person or group of people.
Too many “anti-Zionists” are against their own made up version of Zionism. That made up version of Zionism has much more in common with the made up version of Islam as presented by Islamophobes, than it has to do with the Zionism the vast majority of Jews in Australia support. Racist anti-Zionism is taking it to the next step. Declaring Zionism to be like Nazism, and therefore Zionists to be like Nazis. On that basis, it argues Jews should be targeted. That logic, including the call to target Jews, is made explicit in the examples below.
Posts inciting violence
On hearing that a senior academic manager in Ireland physically assaulted a student for displaying an Israeli flag, she called for greater violence saying the Jewish student should have been assaulted harder.

In another post she claims the majority of Australian Jews support Israel, and therefore “deserve whatever happens” to them.

She expressed a similar idea in another post. For background, ABC journalist Patricia Karvelas posted an article of her reporting on the attack on the Synagogue. Someone replied saying her reporting was “contravening the ABC’s charter in such a way that it constitutes a criminal offence” and that “She’s a criminal who should be in jail.” Karvelas replied ironically, that yes she is “A criminal that should be in jail for saying attacks on Jews in Melbourne is unjustifiable.” Our anti-Zionist responds that “this is war” and she questions if attacks on Jews are really unjustifiable as “Most Jews in this country are Zionists who support Israel”.

In another post she calls for Israel to be “wiped off the map” (see the hashtag) and gives a completely distorted explanation of Zionism. For the record, Zionist is a political movement that supports having a Jewish state in the place that have been the homeland of the Jewish people for other 3,000 years. Most Zionist support the establishment of a Palestinian State alongside the Jewish State as the end result of negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian representatives to establish peace. Our anti-Zionist is having none of that. Only the elimination of the Israeli Defence Force, followed by the elimination of Israel and genocide of Jews who live there will appease her.

She engages in Holocaust distortion saying moved by Israeli to set up a humanitarian city where aid is being distributed as “much worse than what the Nazis did to the Jews.”

Go back a day and we can see she was herself calling for Zionists to be interned in camps.

Classic Antisemitism
She reposts conspiracy theories about Jews controlling governments and the media.

She uses dehumanisation against Jews.

Perhaps most ironically, she attacks a Jew expressing concern about people justifying violence against Jews by asserting her own Jewishness (again despite being religiously Catholic, with parents who are religiously Catholic – see more below). She claims no one is hunting Jews and blaming Jews (not event attempting to claim she is talking about Israel) for murdering Palestinians. She makes this claim depsite her own posts inciting violence and targeting of Jews, even calling for war against Jews and for Zionists to be interned.
Who is this poster?
This particular user has the upside down triangle of Hamas in her username. She claims she is both Jewish and Catholic. She claims she has a Jewish mother and Catholic father.

In another post from 2017 she describes herself as “far-left” and the daughter of communists. She describes both her parents as Catholics here.

Also in 2017 she describes going to Church with her parents regularly until she was 18.

By early 2024 she was claiming she is Jewish, while also saying “Hitler’s only mistake was stopping too soon”.

Her username ends in 88, something common in the accounts of neo-Nazis as the 8th letter of the alphabet is H, so 88 is HH or Heil Hitler. When she was questioned about this she claimed it was related to her birth year, which simply didn’t add up.

She might be a Nazi who has worked for years to infiltrate the far-left, and from her interactions is now influencing them. Her parents might be Communists, and religiously Catholics. If her mother was born to a Jewish mother, then according to Jewish law she would still be regarded as part of the Jewish people. That said, if the connection is real, her only use for it seems to be try and abuse it while inciting violence against Jewish people.
To the person who asked if self-hating Jews are a real thing, we give you exhibit A.
Anger and frustration
It is accounts like this cheering on antisemitic attacks in Melbourne, inciting violence, and painting a target on Australian Jews that are creating fear in the Australian Jewish community.
Such accounts should not be able to operate on social media platforms. More, a person behind an account like this should be found by the police and charged. They are an extremist inciting violence, and frankly it doesn’t matter if they are really a far-left antisemite, or a far-right antisemite pretending to be a far-left antisemite. It certainly doesn’t matter who their maternal grandmother was.
The spread of such commentary, dismissing serious antisemitic incidents, attacking those who speak up against it, and egging on further attacks on Jewish targets, all without any consequences, this is what is creating anger and frustration in the Jewish community.
