Earlier today we released our report on Online Anti-Muslim Hate and Racism Against Palestinians and Arabs, which, alongside our Online Antisemitism after October 7 report, which received coverage by the Australian Broadcasting Cooperation. Both of the reports show that anti-Muslim hate and antisemitism have skyrocketed since October 7 and the subsequent war in Gaza. This alarming increase of online hate signals that more needs to be done by relevant authorities and government offices, such as eSafety, to tackle it. Supporting this work
In the coming months, OHPI will be releasing another report comparing the antisemitic and anti-Muslim hate data. We are also seeking funding to run this project again starting in October, to see if the rates of online hate against Jews and Muslims have changed one year on.
The Online Hate Prevention Institute is a registered Australian charity. We also have DGR status, which means donations of over $2 are tax deductible in Australia. Donations can, however, be made by anyone from any part of the world.
We support both one off donations as well as reoccuring mothly donations. Reoccuring donations support our long term effectiveness and capacity building. When donating you can make a general donation, or indicate which of our priority areas you would like your donation to support.
